Job Title:�Policy & Partnerships Manager

Salary:��40,000 - �45,000
Position Overview:
As the Policy & Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Policy & Partnerships team to maintain and strengthen positive relationships with key partners. You will lead research and project delivery to support the development of policies and strategies aligned with our mission of promoting economic growth across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Head of Policy to monitor and review the Business Plan, ensuring alignment with local and regional priorities.
  • Identify and respond to changes in economic landscapes and opportunities.
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on local, regional, national, and international policies.
  • Identify opportunities and challenges for the West Midlands region.
  • Translate priorities and policy recommendations into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective implementation, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Administer partnership engagement and reporting activities, including progress reports for Local Authority Partners.
  • Collaborate with the Stakeholder Engagement Lead to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, policy briefs, and presentations on relevant policy issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, decisions, and outcomes using our CRM system.
  • Assist in the delivery and administration of governance arrangements, including supporting the Board meetings by taking minutes and contributing to report writing.
Key Skills and Competency Requirements:
Essential:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational�skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and deadline-driven.
  • Ability to develop rapport and strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of effective stakeholder engagement in a complex operating environment
  • Experience and knowledge of reporting performance and adapting presentational styles to different audiences.
  • Proven experience of supporting a programme of activity with multiple strands of work and different, often competing deadlines
  • Proven experience of a policy-related role, preferably in economic development, government, or a related field
Desirable:
  • Experience in effective stakeholder engagement in a complex operating environment.
  • Knowledge of reporting performance and adapting presentational styles.
  • Experience in translating complex information into concise reports.
  • Familiarity with key anchor institutions in the West Midlands region.
  • Experience working closely with Combined Authorities, Local Authorities, and other key bodies in an economic development capacity.
  • Proficiency in using CRM/ERP systems.
  • Experience in managing boards and maintaining action plans.
  • 3-5 years of experience in policy and/or partnerships within local government or relevant setting
