Follow us on Instagram @zopalife The team:The Platforms teamis at the core of Zopa andhas been created to improve the way we deliver our infrastructure and evolve the reliability engineering culture.The team is responsible for evolving our infrastructure platforms to be drivable by our development tribes so that they can be more autonomous and agile,finding opportunity to replaceBAUtickets withautomation and APIs, designing properly reliable services and supporting the security processes that are required in an FCA audited environment. We aim to curate the right selection of technologies, such as cloud providers, container platforms, monitoring, metrics and logging,open-sourceprojects, to achieve the goals on our platform roadmap.We are currently on the lookout for a strong mid-level Platform Engineer to join us!A day in the life as a Platform Engineer at Zopa:Work onour TerraformplatformautomationstrategyWork with our tooling team toimproveour application release processes and pipelinesEnsure that the right level of monitoring and alerting is in placePlanupgrades toour container platforms to the latest version of Kubernetes, ensuring the latest features are being utilisedDesign processes and tools that help our developers to take more control of their products and the infrastructure they needWork closely with engineering managers and developers to ensure that the TOIL is kept to a reasonablelevel and that we seek opportunities to empower our developersParticipate in our on-call rota every 5-6 weeksMust have experience:At least 4+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer or similar positionStrong Linux administration (FlatcarOS, Amazon Linux 2or any Linux in general)Languages such as Bash or Python for automationCloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or AzureIaaC tooling such as Terraform, AWS CloudformationDocker containersNice to have experience:Experience in building and maintaining Kafka clusters (mirroring Kafka across multiple datacentres)Experience with KubernetesService discovery (Consul, Linkerd, Istio, etc.)Secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, Vault etc.)Good understanding of networking (OSI)Monitoring (AWS Cloudwatch, Prometheus, Grafana etc.)Flexible working?
