An exciting opportunity to work for a global company that has developed a SaaS product catering to financial institutions. It offers real-time feeds and pricing of niche financial market information and is comparable with Bloomberg and Reuters. The firm is privately owned and has circa 800 employees worldwide, with its headquarters in London. They are focused on mergers and acquisitions, and they integrate new businesses and technology into the 'mothership'. Plenty of projects to get stuck into here!
This Platform Architect is a newly created position and you will be reporting to the CTO. Your day-to-day stakeholders also report to the CTO and comprise x3 Software Engineering Managers (managing circa 30 developers) and a Head of SRE (managing 5 SREs). There will also be interfaces with the product and customer success team.
The role:
the business is going through a huge amount of growth and change, hence the need for a new Platform Architect. They are focused on mergers and acquisitions and integrate other businesses' technology into their own mothership. This role will encompass analysing tech stacks, applications, and systems of these businesses and coming up with strategies of integration (or exclusion) into the core Azure platform. They need someone who can understand trade-offs and contribute best architecture practices to an evolving roadmap.

The right experience and profile:
SaaS background: some who has ideally worked on enterprise sized SaaS applications.
Architected platforms and applications by working with internal development teams that builds proprietary software products as opposed to architecting off-the-shelf bought software for applications to sit on.
Azure background is highly desirable.
Strong appreciation of software development and working with developers and SDLC best practices in relation to the Azure ecosystem.
