Plater / Pipe Fitter

This is a fantastic time to join us at QA Weld Tech. We have recently joined the Express Engineering Group who employ nearly 300 employees across their two Companies, Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech) and Express Engineering (Gateshead).

To be successful in this Plater role at QA Weld Tech, you will:

• Be competent in cutting plate and prepping pipe including dressing of materials and marking out to assist with manufacturing of fabrications.


• Experienced in reading and working to engineering drawings


• Pipe fitting experience essential.


• Work to tight tolerances and customer specification and requirements


• Ability to use measuring equipment, Faro arm experience would be an advantage


• Manufacture jigs and fixtures to support project and customer requirements


• Be focused on right first time production to support on time delivery to customers


• Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment


• Be flexible in your approach - willing to work overtime or shifts when required to suit customer requirements


• Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others
