Plant Operator - Anaerobic Digestion

Alecto Recruitment are working with our client to find a Plant Operator for their site in Basingstoke, Anaerobic Digestion is an exciting, growing sector in the Renewable Energy Industry, the Operator will assist the Site Manager to run the site.

PACKAGE DETAILS

  • Salary �29,400 per annum
  • This role is worked on a shift basis
  • 12 Hour Shifts - 4 on 4 off - DAYS ONLY
  • 7am - 7pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure strict adherence to and implementation of the traffic management plan at the site.
  • Aid drivers in safely manoeuvring on the premises.
  • Conduct preliminary acceptance checks before and during the delivery process.
  • Execute food waste rejection procedures when necessary.
  • Operate mobile site equipment, such as telehandlers, to manage feedstock and adhere to the feeding plan for optimal plant efficiency.
  • Utilize mobile site equipment as needed for various site tasks, including unloading pallets and receiving deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the AD Plant Maintenance Technician to carry out site clamp management procedures for feedstock quality and emission risk control.
  • Ensure proper execution of site sanitization procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized site and work environment, including routine cleaning of both external and internal areas.
  • Perform initial fault-finding procedures and, if necessary, escalate issues to technicians and maintenance leads, sharing updates through group communication channels like WhatsApp.
  • Be available on-call and respond to emergency maintenance requirements according to the provided schedule.
  • While on-call, monitor the performance of the AD Plant through the SCADA system.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of the HBP and general HBP processes.

SKILLS

  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to lead & motivate a team effectively
  • Able to prioritise tasks and use own initiative within line structure
  • Has a "can-do" approach to work tasks and team goals
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (excel, word, outlook)
  • Ability to analyse data & produce reports for appraisal
  • Effective problem-solving technics
  • Mechanical knowledge of pumps, conveyers and gear systems
  • Knowledge of equipment assembly, repair, and installation

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working in Waste Management/ Chemical/ Renewables/ Quarrying/ Aggregates/ Anaerobic Digestion/ Wastewater Treatment/ Process facility (desirable).
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure.
  • Ability to manage your own schedule plus that of your team.
