Plant Operative

We are currently recruiting for a�Plant Operative�to work Nights for a local waste management client based in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be able to support the Operational Manager and the team by carrying out the following duties.

Job responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining (once fully trained) plant and machinery in Materials Recovery Facility areas of the site Machines include; loading shovel, forklift trucks attachments, Telescopic handlers and baling/ compactor equipment Working as part of a team to ensure bags are produced in an orderly manner


• Complete daily checks and defect reporting for the plant, keeping the plant clean inside and out


• Effectively managing vehicles delivering or collecting from site


• Participate in skip waste sorting and the positive picking of larger items of recyclables from


• tipped vehicles


• Quality checking on incoming materials and bales to ensure they are at the required standard


• Bailing/ compacting of material or forming good quality bales for reprocessing


• Experience operating plant machinery, including loading shovel


• Baling/ compacting experience

Hours of work and pay rates:

• Tuesday to Friday night shift, 17:45pm till 6:15am


• �13.90 per hour for basic hours, �19.64 per hour after completing base 48 hours, �27.80 per

for any bank holidays worked
