Job Description£25,000 - £27,000 + Van + BenefitsIn order to maintain Benholm's long standing and enviable reputation for service and product excellence, a 'green-fingered' Maintenance Technician is required to maintain and care for live plant installations and arrangements in our customers' offices, hotels and restaurants throughout Central Scotland.Nestled in a beautiful rural location near Falkirk in Central Scotland, the Benholm team has worked hard over the last 30 years to establish a deep-rooted reputation as an industry leader, whilst staying true to our values as a welcoming, family owned and highly successful business providing and maintaining an unrivalled range of real and artificial plants to commercial clients across the UK. Having nurtured a strong network of local, national, and global growers - as well as artificial plant manufacturers, we provide clients with the finest domestic and exotic plants for offices, retail, hospitality and public sector spaces.Enjoying a huge variety of work, the successful candidate will maintain a wide range of products, from exotic tropical plant displays to fresh flower arrangements, entrance arches to framed moss wall panels, bespoke built-in planters to high-level trailing features and giant green walls. The seam that runs through every project is Benholm's focus on delivering true customer satisfaction, every time. Whilst previous planting experience is not essential, the preferred applicant will have an interest in and be passionate about working with plants. Key ResponsibilitiesVisit customers' sites at agreed intervals to water, clean, feed, prune, etc. and replace plant and flower arrangements as necessary, all in accordance with the standards set out in the Benholm Maintenance Manual.Inspect plant arrangements and manage pest control as required.As needed, work onsite at Benholm to support the planting and preparation of Benholm products in time for delivery and installation to customer sites.Undertake installation work as required from time to time.Loading and unloading of vans including any associated tools & equipment necessary for maintenance routines to be managed efficiently.Unload van once assigned work has been completed ensuring all tools and equipment are returned and stored in a clean, tidy, and organised state.Complete timesheets & relevant process documentation as necessary.Work through any Health & Safety issues as they arise liaising with the customer and/or Operations Manager as needed.Provide feedback to the Head of Production for continual improvement.Proactively identify and refer opportunities for new business to Sales team.Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience within horticulture or florist work is preferred.Experience in customer-facing field service roles would be consideredImpeccable customer service skills with excellent communication.This is a customer-facing role which requires being well-presented and polite.Care and attention to detail.ReliablePhysically fit (as this role requires lifting and moving items safely) and able to work at height.Own transport required as work premises is not near any public transport.This is a wonderful new opportunity for a diligent, practically minded and hands on individual looking to join a growing, successful team offering all relevant product and service training and an immediate start.A negotiable salary based on experience is on offer in addition to an attractive benefits package and the use of a company van during work hours. Standard working hours are 6:00 am - 3:00 pm, Mon - Fri across a 45-hour week with flexibility available around core working hours as needed and in line with the requirements of the business.
