Planning Officer

We are currently on the hunt for a Planning Officer in the Derry/Strabane area.
About the role;
As Planning Officer, you will be responsible of providing professional and technical advice, guidance and recommendations, and to carry out all the functions associated with the delivery of the clients responsibilities and statutory functions in respect of Planning.
Duties & Responsibilities;
Validation and processing of planning applications under supervision of a senior officer.
Undertaking site visits, participating in site meetings, writing up reports of visits, formulating professional opinions.
Assisting with the preparation of material for committee meeting, planning appeals and public inquiries.
Assisting with the preparation of development plans, enhancement strategies and regeneration proposals for conservation areas, town centers and other selected settlements.
Assisting with research into and preparation of reports relating to policy formulation and development control.
Dealing with enquires from the public, by telephone, correspondence and face to face.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time.
Experience & Requirements;
A degree in Planning OR, Post Graduate Qualification in Planning
A minimum of six months experience, within a similar background is desirable
Knowledge of relevant planning policy and legislation within NI
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must have access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the role.
