Job Title: Planning Manager
Location - Office based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
Job Overview:
As Planning Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the master production schedule to ensure efficient production workflows, timely deliveries, and optimal resource utilization. In addition, you will optimize the Materials Requirements Planning process within our organization. The primary focus will be on efficiently meeting customer demand for products and replacement parts, managing material inventory, and facilitating seamless production processes. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics, to meet organizational goals and customer demands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Master Production Scheduling:
Oversee the development and maintenance of the master production schedule to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing lead times.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to understand demand forecasts and production capacities.
Optimize the utilization of labour, equipment and materials to meet production targets.
Production Coordination:
Work closely with production supervisors to ensure the timely execution of the master schedule and generated manufacturing orders.
Monitor production progress and ensure adjustments are made as needed to accommodate changes in demand or resource availability.
Capacity Planning:
Evaluate production capacities and constraints to identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
Implement strategies to enhance production capacity and efficiency.
MRP System Management:
Optimize the use of the MRP system to ensure accurate and timely data input, maintenance, and retrieval.
Customize and configure MRP parameters to align with production requirements and business goals.
Inventory Optimization:
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
Conduct regular analyses to identify slow-moving items, potential shortages, and opportunities for inventory reduction.
S&OP Supply Plan Development:
Develop the long-term S&OP Supply Plan (Build Plan) each month by collaborating with sales and production teams to balance demand with Supply Chain constraints.
Ensure month end processes refresh, align and update the Supply Plan.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and system development within the Master Scheduling Process and MRP system workflows.
Implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain and production performance.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify potential risks that may impact the master production schedule.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure on-time deliveries.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production schedules, on-time deliveries, and resource utilization.
Generate regular reports to communicate schedule adherence and production performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role within production scheduling, materials planning or supply chain.
Strong understanding of MRP systems and their application in manufacturing environments.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficient in using relevant software applications and tools.
