Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Planning Engineer in Civil Energy Projects!

Role: Planning Engineer
Location: Highlands, Northwest Scotland
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Company:
Contract Scotland is actively seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our esteemed client, a prominent Civil Engineering Contractor based in the Northwest of Scotland.  With a robust order book, our client is expanding their permanent team to cover a large range of projects within Infrastructure, Energy, and Utilities sectors.

About the candidate:
This role would be suited to an experienced Planning Engineer who has come from a Site Engineering background with good practical knowledge in the delivery of civil engineering projects. A high level of proficiency in Primavera P6 software will also be essential. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Working closely with bid teams, producing outline programmes for tenders
  • Production of detailed production programmes in conjunction with multi-discipline teams of Project Engineers and Project Managers
  • Close liaison with production and site teams on project mile-stones and updating programmes accordingly
  • Providing regular progress reports to the senior management team
  • Engineering: Leading the engineering solutions adopted on bids and projects

Essential Requirements:


  • Degree or an equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and or Construction Management.
  • You should have site-based Engineering experience, ideally within a specialist contractor or principal contractor environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading, inspiring, coaching, managing and mentoring others.
  • You should be an enthusiastic individual that can implement instruction from the Senior or Principal Planning Engineer to your colleagues and give guidance when needed.
  • You will be a key team player that strives to work with other stakeholders to deliver the vision and complete projects with success.
  • Flexibility on travel for sites is required.
