As a Planning & Consents Manager within the Land, Property & Consents Team, you will play a critical role in driving this growth by securing vital permissions for our projects as well as establishing a comprehensive and consistent approach to doing so.As Planning & Consents Manager your key responsibilities will include:- Establishing a comprehensive and consistent approach to designing and delivering consenting strategies on projects across the business and ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated accordingly from project origination to project execution.- Support projects by providing desktop screening and initial planning advice on opportunities, advising internal stakeholders on the likelihood of achieving planning permission and the relevant consents together with the appropriate route to doing so. At project origination set out risks, timescales, processes, costs, relevant specialist consultant engagement and stakeholder engagement. - Assist the Project Development Managers in selecting and appointing specialist consultants, setting out clear Scope of Works and managing the consultant throughout their instruction. - Support the business in building strong relationships with key external consenting stakeholders at local, regional and national level including statutory consultees and key community leaders. - Support the business in tracking planning policy changes and engage with industry bodies on emerging consenting issues. Feedback to the business on relevant consenting risks, considerations and opportunities that may impact project delivery and strategy. To be considered for this role, we would love you to:- Have technical expertise in Town & Planning and consenting of major development projects.- Be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, a member of or working toward being a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.- Have the ability to challenge project teams and stakeholders to ensure robust consenting decisions on projects are taken and risks are clearly identified and mitigated. -. Have the ability to clearly present key messages and to communicate at all levels in the organisation as well as to key stakeholders outside of the organisation.- The ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
