Planned Maintenance Manager Required to work with leadings Birmingham/Midlands based housing association.

My client requires an experienced and professional planned repairs manager to their growing and ambitious in house maintenance team. The role will manage the smooth delivery of a quality customer focused service, responsible for surveying, estimating, and managing workloads within your area of responsibility. The successful applicant would have experience from either Site Supervisor/Manager and possess a strong background within a repairs and maintenance environment.

The successful candidate will ensure that they are organised to carry out a multiple quality inspection and works surveys to properties within a defined geographical area, carrying out investment and planned maintenance inspections along with the management of quality on the contract.

You will play a vital role in the delivery of the internal planned maintenance service, working with the Head of Repairs & Maintenance to identify and mitigate risks to the business and to ensure that all homes are safe, secure, and fit for purpose.

Specific Tasks

  • To monitor the quality of workmanship completed by operatives, and ensure standards are maintained in accordance with the Group's and contractual expectations.
  • Be able to organise workload and complete works in accordance with trade standards and current Building Regulations.
  • Ensure works completed are to the highest standard and are correctly completed first time as reasonably practicable.
  • Undertaking the appraisals of staff and assisting with the development and aspirations of the team.
  • To assist in delivering, achieving the goals set out in the team plan.
  • To be pro-active in the implementation of Health, Safety and Welfare.
  • To undertake spot checks on a regular basis of completed works and safety practises.
  • To be pro-active in implementing new systems.
  • To ensure that operatives work efficiently & productivity is maintained and improved.
  • Ensure selection and procurement of materials for the execution of the works are correct and are appropriate and to sufficient standard to avoid any disputes in relation to the finished product.
  • To report up any issue's which may cause damage to the reputation of the organisation.
  • To develop of new and existing trades colleagues and apprentices.
  • Participate in the out of hours' emergency repair service as a manager a rota.

Salary: �42,887
