I'm partnering with BAE Systems to recruit for a Piping Designer in Scotstoun on a 12-month contract basis to work for a Defence client.
Hourly rate: £24.49 PAYE or £32.31 Umbrella
Overview
Progress complex design activities through to completion using design tools (eg CAD) and advise and coach team members and early careers through their activities, and where applicable support colleagues through mentoring.
Check and assure other team members work on behalf of the Principal Detail Designer including final sign off of engineering outputs and creation of Quality Care Points and Alerts as identified during checking.
Fully conversant with all Detail Design processes and Management Systems and can advise and guide team members through application of them. Including supporting external and internal audits.
Skills
Defence background is desirable.
History working in mechanical/piping background.
Designer/draughting and also qualification is essential.
Foran/3D CAD modelling special integration (not only 2D production output generation)
Strong understanding of the design lifecycle and the value stream within the discipline (i.e. Conceptual Design through to Commissioning and Acceptance)
