  Provide professional leadership and strategic direction for the performance, service delivery and development of service strategies across Acute Therapy Services, which includes the following

  
  


• 
  

  Departments: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech &Language Therapy and Dietetics. Act as a catalyst for service improvement ensuring best practice is pioneered and adopted. Participate in the Senior Management on call rota.

  
  


• 
  

  To be responsible for the management of Therapy Services and to be the professional lead and advisor for Therapy services on behalf of the Trust, ensuring the delivery of corporate objectives.

  
  


• 
  

  To be responsible for co-ordination of annual leave &study leave, and to be responsible for the management of appraisals, training, disciplinary & grievance matters, complaints, performance and sickness management within the department.

  
  


• 
  

  To be responsible for allocation of workload within the departments, adapting to unpredictable changes and demands on the service, to prevent a detrimental effect on length of stay.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained and emergency situations within the departments are acted upon.

  
  
  

  The post holder will also be required:-

  
  


• 
  

  To lead on the recruitment, retention and career development within Therapy Services.

  
  


• 
  

  To have responsibility for securing the efficiency, effectiveness and quality standards across al areas of Therapy services.

  
  


• 
  

  To have budgetary responsibility for al Therapy services, managing pay and non-pay budgets, ensuring quality and value for money.

  
  


• 
  

  To lead and develop business planning for Therapy services.

  
  


• 
  

  To be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies/procedures and guidelines which impact across the Trust and other agencies e.g. Social Services and Voluntary organisations.

  
  


• Qualified Physiotherapist
