Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Hours: 8:30am -3:30pm

Salary: £83- £120 per day

GSL education is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Phonics Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our team in an Ofsted graded “Good “ school in the Newcastle area. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the educational journey of young learners. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students to achieve their full potential.

Intervention Teaching Assistant role


  • Design and deliver effective intervention programs to support the learning needs of primary school students.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted strategies.
  • Provide individual and small group instruction to students who require additional support.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive records of interventions and outcomes.
  • Using the school’s phonics programme.

Requirements


  • Relevant  qualifications working with children (E.g. Level 3 teaching Assistant) and experience in primary education
  • A thorough understanding of the primary school curriculum and effective teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students.
  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
  • RTW in the UK and a fully checkable work history
  • Availability to work Mon- Fri (phone number removed)pm Term Time only.
  • Have been trained or used different phonics programs (desirable not essential)
