Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Buxton, DerbyshireAre you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon?Are you a mixed animal vet?Are you looking for a new opportunity in Derbyshire?We are recruiting on behalf of a mixed animal practice in Buxton for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 5 days with shifts between 8:30am and 5:30pm, along with 1 in 7 Saturday mornings with time off in lieu.The practice offer their own on-call service, which is 1 in 7 weekends and weeknights on-call on a rota. The calls are taken externally and there will be a small animal nurse to assist. There is time off in lieu in the week following the weekend on-call. The on-call rota during the week is shared between all vets.The mix is approximately 80% small animal, 20% farm (mostly beef and sheep but some dairy) and a small amount of equine work. The practice provide a high stabdard of care and all pf the team share this ethos across the board.The role offers 80% small animal, 20% large animal and a small amount of equine cases.About themFor the small animal side of things they offer a wide range of modern veterinary services and diagnostics, including an in-house laboratory, dentistry, endoscopy, separate cat and dog wards, x-ray and ultrasoundThe Large Animal work offerd varied cases from dairy farmers to beef and sheep farms and small holdings. They offer routine herd health work, TB testing and ambulatory work.
