Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne & WearAre you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon or soon to be?Are you an experienced mixed animal vet looking for a new opportunity in Newcastle?Are you looking to work in an independent practice?We are recruiting on behalf of an independent practice in Newcastle for a Permanent Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced vet who is either looking for a role to develop their skills further or perhaps is looking for a practice where they can work towards a certificate.The practice pride themselves on providing an encouraging working environment and are committed to offering a high level of modern veterinary medicine and surgery.The position is full time for 5 days per week with a mixture of 80% small, 10% equine and10% farm work. There is the option to reduce to 4 days per week after 1 year. Part time hours will be at least 2 full days per week, along with weekend cover.The weekend cover is 1 full weekend on-call every 6 weeks and after a full weekend worked there is no on call the following week and either the Friday or the Monday would be off in lieu offering a long weekend. There is also a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota and one of these Saturdays would be part of the 1 in 6 full weekend rota. There is a 1 night per week on-call which is supported with another vet. Bank holiday cover rota is equally shared.There are various packages available depending on the candidate and car, fuel and accommodation can be provided as part of a relocation package. Salary is dependent on experience and is reviewed after 6 months in completion of probationary period.The practice is looking for a vet who has experience working in a mixed animal practice.Type: Mixed, 80% small, 10% equine, 10% farmHours: Full time, 40 hours per week over 5 days, shifts between 8am and 7pmWeekends: 1 in 6 full weekends and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, full weekends will be on-call with a long weekend the following weekOOH: 1 night on-call a week (with another vet), as well as the weekend rotaAbout them:A 100-year established group of practices who provide 24hr emergency care to the local area and beyond. Each practice is equipped with a range of modern facilities that include a full range of diagnostic equipment, in house laboratories, hospital facilities and much more.About you:You will be a qualified veterinary surgeon with a desire to work with a forward thinking, fast paced veterinary practice. You will have a surgical certificate or currently/ wishing to studying towards one. You must have a real passion for the industry and strive to provide the highest standards of care.
