The London Borough of Brent is situated in North-West London, with the famous Wembley Stadium at its centre. We have a vacancy based across the borough to cover both Sudbury Primary Care Centre and Willesden Centre for Health and Care. The post is full-time (37.5 hours) fixed term for one year. The Brent 0-19 service has an excitingopportunity for an NMC registrant, Community Specialist Public Health Nurse-Health Visiting, Community midwife, or registered nurse with a Mental Health background to join our team as the Perinatal and Infant Mental health Lead, who will work as part of the Health Visiting team coordinating services programme to children and their families living in Brent. The Specialist for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Lead will provide relevant consultation, training, and support to the universal children's services. The emphasis will be on early intervention, prevention of mental health difficulties, and the promotion of positive relationships between parents and their infants.

Work as a Specialist Practitioner to manage, develop, and lead family-based care in the perinatal period where the parents have or are at risk of developing mental health difficulties, and where these are likely to impact their infants emotional development This will supplement the care given by the universal Health Visiting service Act as an advocate for parents and their infants with perinatal mental health difficulties to ensure they receive active and effective care, in a caseload. This will be done through liaison and partnership working with other agencies Undertake comprehensive assessments of families who are referred for additional support including assessing the needs of partners/fathers To provide appropriate targeted clinical interventions for women with low-moderate level perinatal illness e.g., plan and implement short-term care plans at individual level and also via targeted group work. To hold a small caseload of clients who require intensive mental health interventions To act as a role model highly demonstrating specialist knowledge in practice as the Perinatal/Infant mental health lead, which is underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practice experience Actively contribute to the development of sound clinical practice in the delivery of the Perinatal Mental Health Programme. To identify and record any problems or concerns and report back to the 0-19 Services Brent Clinical Lead as appropriate. Participate in managerial supervision i.e., 1:1s and supporting students.

Health visiting experience in practice Experience of coordinating and leading multi-skilled teams Be able to co-ordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets. Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency working. Ability to facilitate joint working practices Experience of organising and managing own workload and that of others Experience of undertaking comprehensive health assessments, planning and implementing evidence-based programmes of care Writing care plans Experience of developing the public health agenda Experience in providing practice-based learning support to others. Experience of supporting learners in practice settings Experience of delivering training programmes to groups Experience and evidence of participation in audit
