People Relations Officer



This role requires a proactive and solutions focussed generalist, who is curious, has a growth mindset, a positive ‘can do’ attitude, is highly task driven and exceptionally organised.They must be a team player with experience of delivering excellent HR services.  



Our ideal candidate should be a strong communicator that is keen to take ownership of HR/People activities with a passion for learning, delivering results and making a positive impact. The successful candidate must be either fluent French or German Speaking. 



Experience of creating and managing employment policies, managing long-term sickness cases, employee wellbeing and payroll are a must. The candidate will be part of the People Relations team and will be based at our London office.



There is occasional travel with this role.  



People Relations Officer Responsibilities:




  • Support required activities for employee representative and other regulatory bodies.

  • Implement local projects to improve efficiency, local practices and enhance customer service.

  • Actively contribute to People Relations process improvements, to promote best practice and efficiency. 

  • Ensure best practice in all employee relations matters, in compliance with the Law and Company precedence. 

  • Continuously ensure that all employment contracts are being issued correctly, that they are up to date with legislation changes, aligned to country employment law, and that any changes to employment T&Cs are captured accurately. 

  • Continuously ensure that all employees of CMS are aware of the Employee Handbook and ensure to communicate policy updates. 

  • Support business Managers at investigation meetings, always seeking to minimise both risk to business and fairness to employee. 

  • Support business Managers with the Performance Management Process and follow up to ensure that plans are being actioned. 

  • Actively encourage Employees to avail of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and promote the benefits of wellbeing in the workplace. Support CMS wellbeing initiatives, including the management and reporting of any psychosocial risks to employees. 

     



Additional Responsibilities



Absence Management




  • Support business Managers by making them aware of their team absence levels and to put in place action plans to address persistent problematic absences. 



Payroll & Benefits 




  • Support the Payroll function in the co-ordination of local pay, employer’s contributions and benefits activities.



Learning & Development




  • Work in collaboration with the Talent Development team to create and support development programmes where needed.

  • Assist in Exceeding Expectations quarterly reviews and ensure that watch-out data is being actioned accordingly.

  • Actively support and promote company values and culture document.



Talent Acquisition 




  • Supporting the Talent Acquisition team with coordination support, systems support and contractual support when needed.

  • Supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager by ensuring that People Relations create contracts and offers in a timely manner. 

  • Support the Employee On-boarding process, which includes Induction presentations. 



Employment VISAS and Right to Work




  • Support VISA application requests, ensuring that we follow correct government guidance.

  • Ensure that checks are being carried out on right to work, to ensure there is no risk to the business.

  • Data and Analysis

  • Keep accurate and organised records of Employee Data (as per GDPR guidelines).

  • Support the management of People data intelligence profiles. 



Collaboration with Wider-POPS team




  • Actively participate and contribute to People Operations team meetings.  

  • Put forward ideas and suggestions that will enhance/ improve our policies and processes.

  • Actively encourage feedback and input from CMS employees on how we can provide better services to our people.



Skills & Personal Attributes



Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 



FLUENT IN EITHER FRENCH OR GERMAN IS ESSENTIAL. 



Strong UK employment law and HR experience is a must.



Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to influence people at all levels.



Creative, flexible, with a proactive approach to problem solving.



Proficient in all Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.



Experience working with an HRIS, ideally SAP Success Factors.



Excellent planning and organising approach, with the ability to balance conflicting deadlines and priorities and attention to details.



Evidences a collaborative approach.



Highly motivated, deadline focussed with the ability to consistently maintain high level of accuracy.



Qualifications:



BA/BSc degree or work experience equivalent, in human resources, psychology, business, change management or other relevant field.



Experience of having worked in human resources for a minimum of 1 year at HR Officer level, similar or above.



Ideally has achieved CIPD or SHRM accreditation.
