As a People Partner, you are integrated into your designated business area where you will leverage your deep understanding of the business objectives to provide expert insight and leadership around all things people-related, including people strategy and planning, organizational health and talent management. You will partner with cross-functional groups of subject-matter experts to design and execute the strategy and plans for our people.
For your designated area of the business you are responsible for:You have a deep understanding of the specific business objectives and talent needs (i.e. headcount, competencies, people challenges etc.) of your areaYou lead the development and execution of a high impact people strategy and plan for your area that is aligned to company, business and HR team objectivesYou focus on the development of leadership skills and EQ across your areaYou support your business partner in managing transformation and changeActing as a Trusted Advisor and Coach:You are an active and trusted member of your business partner’s leadership team, as well as a member of the People TeamYou serve as a trusted consultant and advisor, offering thought leadership to your business partner, on all people-related mattersYou provide insightful people-related data to guide decision making and solution developmentYou coach business partners on leading and managing their organizations with an emphasis on EQYou coach and mentor all team members for your area as requiredYou encourage, motivate and guide individuals and teams in learning and improving effectiveness, leadership and EQOrganizational Health:You take a data-driven and agile approach to all decision-making and delivery - you measure the impact of your programs and activities and iterate as requiredYou lead the design and deliver innovative, revolutionary and high impact (measured) solutions for our peopleYou work closely with your business partner to ensure that we have the right organizational structure in place to deliver the business objectivesPartnering with the Talent Experience Team to ensure:We have the right people in the right roles- you will support recruitment for your area ensuring we only hire exceptional talent with excellent cultural fitWe have effective onboarding programs in place for new startersWe have the right development programs and training in place to support our top talent - you foster a culture of learningWe have the right management training programs in placeWe are rewarding and recognizing our talent effectivelyWe have the right performance management processes in placeWe have succession plans in placeOperational Excellence:You work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and high level delivery of our people strategy and plans and talent management programsEmployee relations: you will partner with the ER Team serve to partner primary on ER issues, ensuring that the appropriate expert actively responds to and addresses concerns in a timely, cost efficient manner.What we are looking for:Someone who is passionate about business impact – a People Partner who understands the strategic value HR has in delivering a business’s key objectivesProven strategic skills - you have a track record of developing high impact strategies and plansYou have demonstrated experience of supporting scale - ideally experience of supporting a growing technology and/or product teamsYou have demonstrated leadership skills and strong business acumenYou have a track record of designing and delivering innovative solutions using your creative and critical thinking skillsYou have demonstrated coaching and facilitation skillsYou also have some experience in most of the following areas: organizational design, succession planning, performance management, business consulting, talent development, talent management, data analysis, and ideally some experience in employee relationsYou have demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills - the ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysisYou have excellent communication and consulting skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior leaders and a complex set of stakeholdersYou have experience of working in agile/lean environmentsPassion and enthusiasm for making Simply Business the best place to work in Boston (this is what we can’t teach!)The ability to challenge us! What's going on with work from home and return to the office?
At Simply Business, we’ve shifted to a hybrid working model, meaning we have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time. That means our SBers have more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.
There are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We know that taking time for in-person connections in our hubs (that’s what we call our offices) contributes to our community and our culture - it’s what makes SB great and helps us stand out, which is one reason why we were listed on BuiltIn’s Best Places to Work in Boston for 2023! It also helps to accelerate trust, collaboration, and innovation, which in turn leads to better results and customer outcomes. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs at least four times a month. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
