Job DescriptionTo provide a complete administration service including all regular aspects of pensions administrative workResponding to pension enquiries such as processing retirements, transfers out and time critical events such as responding to the death of a memberTo quickly escalate to the Pensions Manager any significant problems or concerns, particularly those that have a financial implicationPreparation of the Scheme financial statementsSubmission of the annual Scheme ReturnCompleting the Pensions Dashboard ProjectTo take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your own work and that of your colleaguesEnsuring the input of accurate data and maintenance of that dataEncouraging adoption of a consistency of approach to high quality data managementDiligence in querying any data inputting where there is any concern as to its accuracy The Successful ApplicantExperience in a pensions administration roleExcellent technical and operational knowledge of UK contracted-out defined benefit pension schemes, also experience in defined contribution schemes is desirableGood knowledge of UK pension legislationExperience of working with pension administration systemsTrack record of performing and checking member benefit calculations including ability to apply complex history of legacy arrangementsEssential - Excel, Word, OutlookUsed to meeting deadlines in a busy working environmentSelf-starter but an effective collegiate team memberStrong customer focus skills in dealing with members and third parties on the phone and in writingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMay be working towards an accountancy degree
