PCB Designer

An exciting oppurtunity for a PCB designer has come about for one of the global leaders in the field of undersea telecommunications, playing a pivotal role in connecting continents, enabling high-speed data transmission, and supporting critical communication infrastructure.
Design and documentation of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs) used in Power Feeding Equipment (PFE).

The PFE provides the current to power undersea cable systems, generating a High Voltage output from a low to medium voltage DC supply, with a long system life and high reliability
SALARY - 55K
All aspects related to specification, design and documentation of PCBs and PBAs:

-Create and maintain a parts library : CR5000/CR8000 database.

-Create component shapes, symbols etc as requested by hardware design engineers.

-DFx analysis.

-Generate and maintain all PCB and PBA manufacturing data, BoMs and drawings.

-Respond to PCB fab DFM analysis / manufacturing queries.

-Export of 3D models to MCAD (Creo).
Required expertise (essential for the role):

-PCB CAD : Zuken CR5000 (or CR8000) SD, BD and Components Manager (librarian)

-Familiarity with relevant IPC standards

-In depth understanding of PCB fabrication and PBA manufacturing and processes, including stack-up limitations/best practices, PCB materials, panelization etc
Additional expertise (advantageous):

-Zuken Lightning power analysis

-Experience designing boards for high voltage and/or high current applications
Electronics Engineering diploma.

IPC CID / CID+ PCB certification preferred but not essential.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant R&D department in a manufacturing environment.

Good understanding of general electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering principles.

Good communication skills, team working with ability to work with minimum supervision.
