Elvet Recruitment have been appointed to recruit for a Payroll Team Member to join a construction business in Newcastle.



About the Role:



Join a HR Shared Services team as a Payroll Team Member and play a significant role in handling complex and meaningful payroll operations. Based in Newcastle, this role offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility and a balanced work-life setup.



3 days office/2 days remote



Key Responsibilities:




  • Process weekly and monthly payroll, including BACS and RTI submissions.

  • Validate payroll output, ensuring accuracy of data input from employees, internal departments, and third-party sources.

  • Perform manual calculations for gross to net pay, encompassing NI and PAYE deductions.

  • Address employee inquiries and concerns related to salaries and payroll.

  • Manage interfaces from third-party suppliers and internal time and attendance systems.

  • Develop, maintain, and update payroll processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.

  • Generate payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.



Ideal Candidate:



We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:




  • Prior experience in weekly payroll operations and familiarity with Working Rules Agreements.

  • Ability to handle high-volume workloads while meeting KPIs for timeliness and quality.

  • Proficiency in end-to-end payroll processing and the use of Payroll Software.

  • Competency in manual calculations and advanced Excel usage.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
