Payroll Team Leader

We have been instructed to find a Payroll Team Leader for one of our clients based in Carrington.

Based at the head office, the Payroll Team Leader will report to the Personnel Administration Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for….

• Team Leader for payroll team, ensuring accuracy of payroll and that all deadlines are achieved.


• Train & develop members of the Hub team.


• Keep up to date with relevant legislation changes & ensure correct implementation across payrolls.


• Identify, propose and implement changes to processes & procedures to improve efficiency of the department.


• Liaise with external payroll bureau to ensure accurate transition of data.


• Carry out monthly reporting as required by Head Office


• Data entry into SAP for collecting monthly payroll data to send to bureau for processing. Responsible for checking and making required adjustments to payroll.


• First point of contact for all payroll & pension queries as well as ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.


• Required to calculate Tax/NI./SSP/SMP payments, input salary adjustments, calculate back pay & pay increase, prepare month end reports including payroll accrual and deal with payroll queries.


• Supporting the Hub team for all duties relating to other payrolls during busy periods and holiday cover.


• Produce ad hoc reports for Group and assist HR and head office ISIT team to develop time attendance system as and when required.

This would suit someone with the following skills, qualifications, and knowledge….

• CIPP Qualification or relevant level of experience


• 5+ years of experience within a payroll function


• High level of computer literacy, including MS Excel


• Previous experience working with SAPHR, Workday preferable, or other HR and Payroll systems
