Job summaryAn opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Payroll team has arisen. We provide payroll services for University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, Rugby St Cross and also networks across the region. As a Payroll Officer you will be responsible for a section of payroll and the day to day processing, inputting and calculation associated with providing an excellent in-house payroll service.Experience of Oracle or ESR would be a distinct advantage. A good understanding of statutory legislation together with a sound knowledge of IT is essential. We are looking for an organised and efficient person, who is able to prioritise work to strict deadlines, maintaining high attention to detail. You should have a pleasant telephone manner and be able to deal with difficult calls if necessary. Working within the NHS you will be eligible for all our great benefits including NHS pension and salary sacrifice schemes.Please be advised that interviews are scheduled for week commencing 20th May.Main duties of the jobTo be fully conversant with the ESR system used for processing the payroll, storing and retrieving data. To have full knowledge of all terms and conditions of service e.g. Agenda for Change, Trust policies, Local agreements and statutory legislation and relate them to the Payroll environment.Responsibility for the Managing/prioritising, preparation, input and checking of an allocated section of monthly payroll within agreed deadlines. This involves basic/complicated calculations. This will include the provision and receipt of sensitive and contentious information.Ability to plan, schedule and be proactive with allocated workloads.
