Payroll Manager



Location: Somerset



Salary: Circa �50K dependent on experience



T2M Resourcing are recruiting a Payroll Manager for an ambitious and leading business in the UK. As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 5 to ensure the payroll is processed accurately and on-time. You will also work closely with the Payroll Projects Manager to ensure continuous improvement across the business, supporting new initiatives and ensuring the business remain compliant with all statutory requirements.





Key responsibilities as Payroll Manager include:




  • Lead and motivate the payroll team. Provide regular coaching and feedback.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for circa 15,000 employees across the UK.

  • Review and approve all payrolls/payments before processing.

  • Ensure accurate financial postings and deliver management reporting to relevant areas of the business.

  • Preparation and negotiations with HMRC, where applicable, for HMRC returns, P11ds, PSA and HMRC enquiries Month end reconciliations for accurate recording in P&Ls

  • Management of reconciliation of employee benefits for statutory and YE reporting.

  • Help foster collaborative ways of working cross functionally to deliver common aims and alignment.

  • Work in collaboration with the Payroll Project Manager and other stakeholders to implement necessary change, that maximise user SAP Payroll adoption, minimising the impact to operations

  • Work closely with the Payroll Project Manager to drive and propose enhancements to existing payroll processes and systems, championing great customer experience



Skills/experience required to be successful in the Payroll Manager role




  • Extensive high volume UK payroll management experience

  • Excellent working knowledge of all statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE, National Insurance etc.

  • Excellent working knowledge of pensions reforms and auto enrolment.

  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of payroll legislation.

  • SAP experience is ideal but not essential.

  • Demonstrate effective data analysis skills

  • Demonstrate excellent relationship building and stakeholder management ability.
