We have an opportunity as a Payroll Business Analyst working within our Life and Pensions IT department. The Payroll Business Analyst will need to understand the client's requirements and translate them into solutions that meet the client's needs, are compliant with UK regulations, and can be administered on our existing platforms.This will require close liaison with our sales team, the client, our internal regulatory department and the relevant administration team. Changes will need to be carefully scoped and planned, for the Business Analyst to then oversee the work from inception, through to sign-off by both the client and the administration team.Department InformationEQ Paymaster works with the UK's public and private sector schemes and the Life and Pensions sector to manage complex administration and payments. Our division covers pensions, payroll, rewards and benefits, and payments.The IT division our Life & Pensions team supports, develops and installs our suite of Life & Pensions products.Core Duties/ResponsibilitiesTo elicit, collate and document business requirements - which will initially come from our clients but may only be specified at a very high level, perhaps only by reference to the relevant Government legislation.Provide effort estimates of any new item of work, ensuring that all aspects of the work are considered (eg specification, development, testing, operational process changes, and final acceptance). This will require a detailed analysis of the work, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required.Produce Business and Functional Requirements Specifications for agreement with all interested parties.Deliver a wide range projects, working closely with developers, testers, and the relevant administration team.Assist with the definition and running of tests, which might include the creation of test plans, defining acceptance criteria, and running unit, system or performance tests.Deliver solutions to the relevant administration team through a formal UAT and release management process.Escalate issues at the appropriate time, e.g. late delivery or change in scope.Produce progress reporting and MI as defined by internal management and clients.Skills, Capabilities and AttributesGood understanding of end to end Payroll process including regulatory changes.Annuities and pensioner payroll knowledge is must.Previous experience of working as a Business Analyst (relevant qualifications and/or training as a Business Analyst is desirable).Pensions and/or financial services products knowledge.Previous experience of working in a change environment is essential.Knowledge of, and training in, formal software development methodologies (including using SQL) is desirable.We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.Please note any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment screening checks.
