Metalis are working with a well-established company who design and manufacture specialist equipment for the foundry, aerospace and automotive industries, who are well known for outstanding quality in our products and due to a busy period fast approaching, they are looking for another Pattern Maker / Technical Woodworker to join their expert team.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Pattern Maker / Technical Woodworker and be looking to join a company long term where you will become a valued member of the team.

Duties:

  • In this role you will be involved with pattern making, pattern assembly work and production rig assembly. You will operate woodworking machinery like sanders and band saws.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and industry standards

Requirements:

  • Willingness to aid and train others including apprentices if applicable

  • Flexibility and willing to learn and adopt new skills and working methods

  • Utilise shop machining capacity to ensure pattern making efficiency

  • Experience of reading and understanding 2D and 3D drawings

  • Experience of working with hand tools and machine tools

  • Experience of producing products using wood, metals and resin

  • Foundry Craft Studies or Engineering qualification Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths, English and Science.

  • Maintenance of existing core and casting patterns, including repairs and modifications.

  • Produce new patterns arising from new product development.

  • Liaising with Technical and external departments to ensure accuracy and viability of pattern design.

  • Ensure best use of raw materials through planning efficient pattern layouts.

  • Take responsibility for ensuring that standards of their own performance and targets are achieved on a daily and weekly basis

  • Understand the impact of role/performance on internal and external customers and treat it as a priority

  • Carry out full inspection of own work on both new patterns and existing patterns to ensure adherence to quality standards

Pay rate & Shift pattern

�15- 18ph DOE

Monday- Thursday 7.30-16.15 Friday 7.30-12.30 (30 mins lunch break)
