The person holding this position will report to the VP of Medical Affairs and be a member of the global Development team.The core responsibility of the Patient Engagement Director is to lead the development of a long-term patient advocacy strategy and build collaborative relationships between Norgine colleagues and our Patient Advocacy Group partners, ensuring areas of commonality and aligned priorities are identified and appropriately developed. You will support the development of strategic alliances with identified Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) and engagement to understand opportunities for Norgine to work with organizations focused on patient unmet needs, services, research, and public health priorities. The role will require significant work on cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of EU advocacy, public affairs and patient access policy initiatives on a variety of issues, including but not limited to awareness raising, market shaping and reputation. This role will have an initial focus within a rare disease area and experience is this area would be an advantage.As the Patient Engagement Director for Norgine, this role will build trust with external stakeholders through supporting active engagement, thoughtful communication, and consistency over time.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Accountable for the creation of the global patient engagement strategic plan to drive understanding and support planning and communication Ensuring country requirements are central to the patient engagement strategy and activities, and ensuring local implementation of agreed plans and projects Accountable for the implementation of patient engagement tactics for relevant therapy areas including management of budgets including input into planning of medical resource allocation at a global and country level. Maintain key relationships, schedule regular meetings and lead face-to-face/ virtual contact at major medical congresses and/or around major milestones, ensuring scientific understanding and relevance for constituents Lead and coordinate regular engagement with regional, country, and cross-functional colleagues and manage cascade and implementation of key programmes Provide coaching and expertise to global/regional/market colleagues in developing relationships with external stakeholders Accountable for the development and ongoing process enhancements to gather information collected from patient engagement interactions. Develop and effectively implement clear process to enable integration of this data source into insights, to ensure translation into impactful actions for Norgine. Ensure appropriate pull-through of individual patient insights, perspectives and testimonials for internal and external opportunities including leadership meetings, launches, and external stakeholder engagements Accountable for creating the appropriate internal resources to build the capabilities of Norgine’s leaders to appropriately engage in quality public dialogue, in line with medical advancements and innovation Accountable for
leading the ongoing refinement of Norgine’s Patient Engagement relevant procedures and processes
Strong communication skills, strategic thinking and detail-oriented Able to think strategically, deal with complex issues and develop and execute plans Capacity to deal with planning and scoping of activity when full information is not available, including contingency planning
Training and experience in applicable Codes of Practice and experience Clear, accurate written and spoken English Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities as well as excellent written skills, and problem-solving – the ability to resolve conflict and deal with a wide range of complex problems independently Strong planning and systematic thinking, including project management and budgeting, experience managing grant requests A collaborative mindset and ability to influence and lead internally and externally within highly matrixed organizations including identifying and partnering with key decision-makers to identify synergies and shared priorities A proven track record in managing multiple long-term, collaborative patient engagement relationships with experience creating and delivering strategic partnerships. A track record of building collective support and engagement with patient groups around patient education and engagement, capacity-building and policy-shaping efforts Global, regional and local level PAGs, in politically and culturally diverse areas, across all aspects of the patient experience Politically astute, with an ability to horizon scan for opportunities and challenges Biopharmaceutical industry and/or healthcare industry experience required Benefits may vary per location, please liaise with Norgine TA representative for more information.
