The 4* Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel, situated in the village of Luss is looking for a Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes.
You will be required to assist the head pastry chef in the general running of the pastry section ensuring that our high levels of cleanliness, productivity, stock control and Health & Safety are met.
You will be required to:
Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
Ensure all preparation of the designated section is complete and ready for each service
Ensure good stock and waste control is practised
Be responsible for the quality control of stock and prepared foods
Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
Maintain a positive and proactive attitude at all times and seek to improve and advance your skill set and performance
Comply with all health and safety regulations, the Staff Code of Conduct and company policies
Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef and senior management
Seek to ensure that all hotel guests and non-residents enjoy the best experience possible while dining
own transport required due to our location and limited public transport service
