Pastoral Manager  



Full-Time 
Birmingham   
£75-£85 Per Day (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) 



Starting: As Soon As Possible  



The School and Role 



You will be working with a Birmingham wide Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), the PRU works across several sites over Birmingham and has provisions for both Primary and Secondary students. They cater for a broad spectrum of students, where they have been referred by a mainstream school setting or by the Local Authority. The students follow the national curriculum and leaders are dedicated to the implementation of the curriculum across the school, students' expectations are high, and they approach work with High support and High challenge.  



Within your role you will be expected to contribute to the holistic development of students, you will be supporting their behaviour management, academic achievement and contributing to their Social and Emotional wellbeing. You will be attending classes with the students, sitting with them and supporting their engagement within the classroom. You will also be working with the classroom teacher and the wider school support team. You will take a calm and therapeutic approach, maintaining a positive work ethic.  



The desired Pastoral Manager will have;  





  • A Minimum of 1-year experience in a care, residential or educational setting is required.   


  • A DBS on the update service, or willingness to undergo a DBS Check.  


  • A passion for supporting and caring for young people with challenging behaviour, SEND Needs and adverse childhood experiences.  


  • A strong understanding and awareness of safeguarding is essential.  


  • A background in therapeutic care or therapeutic practice would be desirable.  


  • An Ability to work individually and take a proactive approach to student care and learning.  


  • Strong Behaviour Management skills, experience of team teach/restraint training would be advantageous.
