Exciting Opportunity: Pastoral and Reintegration Mentor at a Secondary School in Redbridge!

Are you passionate about supporting students' personal development and ensuring successful reintegration into mainstream education? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our school in Redbridge as a Pastoral and Reintegration Mentor. This role is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent, starting as soon as possible.

Position: Pastoral and Reintegration Mentor Location: Redbridge, London Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 44.8 weeks per year Salary: LBR 5 Scale Point 12: �30,033 FTE (�23,296.28 pro-rata amount)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise internal exclusions and respite, ensuring a supportive and structured environment.
  • Develop mentoring strategies and programmes to support the personal development of students who have been internally excluded, promoting their learning, progress, and successful reintegration into mainstream education.
  • Maintain accurate records on My Concern/SIMs to track student progress and interventions.
  • Collaborate with staff, agencies, and providers to deliver a programme of learning activities tailored to students' needs.
  • Take pastoral and lead professional responsibility for a designated group of pupils, planning for positive outcomes and supporting their overall well-being.
  • Encourage good attendance among students and work actively to address attendance issues.
  • Work closely with school leadership and the Wellbeing team to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, facilitating reintegration or transition to suitable provisions.
  • Contribute to behaviour management and the development of school policies that promote positive student behaviour.
  • Maintain awareness of child protection policies and procedures, ensuring the safeguarding of students.
  • Communicate effectively with other schools, parents, senior leadership, designated Safeguarding lead, and external agencies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a pastoral or mentoring role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and safeguarding protocols.
  • Commitment to supporting the educational and emotional needs of students.
