Job Type: Contract (temp to perm)

Salary: £160 - £205 a day

Ofsted rated “Good” SEMH Provision located in the London Borough of Greenwich is currently seeking an experienced part time SENCo to join a successful provision on a temp to perm basis to start immediately.

The successful applicant will have broad experience in a SENCo position and responsible for ensuring that children with special educational needs (SEN) receive the support they need to reach their full potential.

Successful SENCo


  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
  • Experience of working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) or other specialist SEN setting
  • Knowledge of SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
  • Experience of completing EHCPs and working with external agencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Working closely with SEN Teachers, parents and external agencies to identify children with SEN and develop appropriate EHCPs
  • Providing guidance and training to teachers on how to support children with SEN in the classroom
  • Supporting teachers to differentiate their teaching to meet the needs of children with SEN
  • Working closely with the Headteacher and governing body to ensure that the school is compliant with the SEN code of practice
  • Managing the school's SEN budget and liaising with external agencies to secure additional funding where necessary
  • Ensuring that all EHCPs are completed and reviewed in a timely manner
  • Providing support to children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs
  • Liaising with the local authority and other professionals to ensure that children with SEN receive the appropriate support
  • Maintaining accurate records of children with SEN and ensuring that they are kept up to date
  • You have an Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one immediately
  • In commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
