Part Time Financial Controller

Managing 1 member of staff and reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role forms part of the Senior Management team for the business and involves various duties beyond the standard finance tasks.

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities to support the company's strategic and operational growth. This includes accurate and timely presentation of management and statutory accounts.

• Budgeting and Financial Reports for the Board
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and reports .
• Oversee all accounting and costing procedures and systems.
• Analyse projections of sales and income against actual figures 
• Assess long term financial trends to aid future growth.
• Manage external relationships with banks, lenders, HMRC, and auditors.
• Review and manage commercial contracts to minimise risks to the business.
• Manage Cash Flow
• Oversee company insurances, foreign exchange, legal, and financial activities.
• Perform general duties as a senior manager, including health and safety, provide HR support, manage operations and IT systems 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Legal experience, especially reviewing contracts (preferred).
• An engineering or manufacturing background (preferred).
• Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving ability and innovative thinking.
• Self-motivation, organisation, and adaptability to change.
• Customer, bank, and investment-facing experience (essential).
• Experience in people management and team development.

• A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
• Significant managerial experience
• Experience working as a financial controller, preferably for medium-sized private enterprises (up to 100 employees)

• Part Time 24 hours per week over 4 or 5 days
• Office based with the oopportunity to work 1 day per week from home
• Salary: £60,000 pro rata (£38.5k for actual hours)
