Our client based on the outskirts of Thatcham are currently recruiting an experienced part time Finance Assistant to join their organisation on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is office based for 20 hours per week. The hours can be fairly flexible but one of the working days must be a Friday.
As the part time Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Accounting processes for Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Nominal Ledger
- Reconciliation of business trips - to include deposit income, recharges, supplier invoices.
- Bank Reconciliations of various - including a Euro account when required.
- Month End processes
- Journal processing.
- Corrective Journals to Department Codes, nominal codes, and cost centres
- Prepare and upload data to the finance system.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements, invoices, and credit notes
- Filing of data and documents both hard copy and digitally
- Liaison with suppliers and internal departments
- Use of Finance Systems WCBS Pass and Access Financial
- Raising ad-hoc invoices
- Any ad hoc duties as and when required.
The successful part time Finance Assistant will have the following related skills / experience:
- Qualified to AAT Level 2 - or qualified to this level by experience.
- Highly computer literate, with a strong working knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and Outlook/Teams and the ability to manipulate data.
- Demonstrating an excellent service culture, with a friendly, professional manner.
- Diplomacy, patience and clear written and spoken communication.
- Experience of accounting functions and strong numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to balance working effectively in a small team with working alone on key delegated responsibilities.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work to set deadlines.

- Due to the location, you must be a driver with your own transport.
