Packaging Shift Leader

Our client is a leading provider of packaging solutions worldwide and they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to join their operation in Rotherham. Responsibilities will include:

• Safe and efficient operation of the machines by following the relevant, specified safe systems of work (SSOW). Depending on team organisation and situation: assistance or delegation with machine set-up and the elimination of machine faults.
• Cost-efficient operation of all machines with the aim of increasing utilisation and hourly output while maintaining the required quality within the specified limits.
• Reduction of rejects through the best possible set-up of all machines, optimisation of process capabilities and following the controlled, approved procedures in place.
• Selection and prioritising of production orders in liaison with the Production Manager and Planner ensuring completion in a timely manner which meets that of the customer required time &/or production planning time slot.
• Work alongside the Production Manager, organising workflow and resources across all machines and making decisions in the absence of the Production Manager when required.
• Owning the responsibility of communication throughout their team, across all machines, on all matters.
• Close monitoring of first orders/new customers across all machines. Scrutiny of machine set-up, customer specification, to be visible and documented as specified.
