Outdoor Training Specialist with Locomotivation
Locomotivation are seeking an Outdoor Training Specialist.
Locomotivation is an apprenticeship training provider delivering a range of apprenticeships across England. We believe that by providing high quality training through apprenticeships, we can support employers in maintaining a dedicated and skilled workforce.
Role
The Training Specialist is a vital role within the organisation that supports apprentices across our apprenticeship programmes. The Training Specialist will report to one of our Quality Team Leaders.
Location: National
Place of Work: Based from home, working across employer locations.
Holiday: Minimum of 22 days in the year one, going up to 27 in year two.
Additional: Mileage for travel and overnight expenses paid when away on business Company phone and laptop Pension scheme
Job Purpose
We are looking for a competent apprenticeship Training Specialist to join our team and help our apprentices develop and achieve. With a passion for teaching and learning, the Training Specialist will plan and deliver the Outdoor Activity Instructor apprenticeship programme.
About you
Experience of working in the outdoor industry. You will enjoy and relish the opportunity of working with a range of different apprentices on apprenticeship programmes at Intermediate Level. You are committed and have a passion for developing people, whilst helping foster creative learning pathways for individuals and employers.
You will have excellent skills in English and maths and will be able support others with their development in literacy and numeracy. You have excellent customer service skills, can be flexible in your approach, and can communicate effectively both in person and online with managers and apprentices at all levels.
You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Outdoor industry and enjoy meeting and building relationships with new customers.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage a caseload of apprentices on the Outdoor Activity Instructor apprenticeship programme.
· Planning and delivering the apprenticeship programme to underpin the knowledge and skills of apprentices undertaking the apprenticeships.
· Support apprentices with the preparation of portfolios and evidence required for assessment, including Gateway and End Point Assessment.
· Be involved in the initial assessment, enrolment, and induction of apprentices.
· Provide information, advice and guidance to apprentices to enable them to achieve.
· Ensure accurate records and administrative data is kept up to date ensuring all contractual and statutory obligations are met.
· Deliver training through online and face to face teaching methods.
· Manage our learner management system (Aptem) making sure that all activities are recorded and uploaded weekly.
· Effectively manage and record the off the job training requirements for all apprentices.
· Support apprentices to engage and develop English and maths skills using Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB).
· Report to the Quality Team Leader to make sure all aspects of the programme delivery and quality assurance/audit is maintained.
· Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with employers’ staff and their apprentices.
· Manage own work schedule in an effective manner.
· Work and stay away on business as and when the organisation requires.
· Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Aptem.
Skills and Occupational Requirements
· Ability to demonstrate effective understanding of a range of teaching and learning methods.
· Strong level of competency around IT systems and procedures
· Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the Outdoor sector.
· Hold full UK driving license and have your own vehicle to use for business.
· Hold a recognised teaching qualification (L3 AET, PTTLS)
· Hold a relevant assessor qualification (D32/33, A1/2, TAQA)
· English and maths at GCSE C or above.
