Operations Manager
Salary: Circa £40,000, subject to qualifications and experienceLocation: Newham, LondonJob Type: Full-time, Two-year fixed term contract (potential for extension) We are seeking an Operations Manager to strategically and operationally manage a local community centre in Newham. This role is crucial in ensuring the centre remains a commercially viable asset to the community and a place of worship and mission. The Operations
Manager will report to the Head of SDF Programme Management and will be responsible for maintaining the building, ensuring it is fit for purpose, and meets all legislative requirements while delivering excellent standards of service to all users. Day to Day of the role:
Implement day-to-day operational management of the centre, including finance, staffing, buildings, and maintenance management.Plan and implement marketing activities to maximise income generation.Manage financial aspects of the centre, ensuring accurate reporting and management of actions.Line manage centre staff and ensure policies and procedures are developed and maintained.Support emergency preparedness and crisis planning.Act as the primary contact for all facilities activities, identifying and removing potential roadblocks.Oversee maintenance, inspections, and improvement projects within budget.Communicate effectively with various users and stakeholders, tailoring messages to meet diverse needs.Ensure leases for facilities within the centre are reviewed and renewed as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong relationship-building skills and team-oriented.Previous experience in a similar role.Educated to A-level standard or equivalent.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines with minimal supervision.Proactive in building management and crisis situations.Experience managing budgets and projects.Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.Empathy and understanding of the Christian faith and the Church of England structures.
