Job Description Summary• To support Business Leader in providing day to day leadership to Cell Leaders and hourly shopfloor employees within an area or business segment maximising the development of a team culture and driving employee engagement.• Responsible for EHS, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Productivity within the production area.• Responsible for driving internal and external customer satisfaction and positive customer relationships through on time delivery of quality product.• Responsible for delivering continuous improvement activity and projects to meet operational targets. • Responsible for building and maintaining high engagement of employees within the production area. • Responsible for leading improvement actions for SQDC within the production area. • Support Business Leader in growing and developing the production area. • To deputise for Business Leader as required.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities Provide area leadership and liaise with support areas (Lean, Quality, Planning, EHS, HR etc ) in the setting of KPIs and achievement of goals with respect to EHS, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Productivity Act as a people leader for cell leaders within the production area. Responsible for managing day to day capacity planning in the business area and liaising with the Planning team to monitor and make required changes to the area capacity plan
Pursue state of the art technology and processes to enhance product/process predictability and deliver quality requirementsChampion Lean Six Sigma processes within the area and drive on-going improvements and the Lean Vision which align with the value stream priorities. Support Action Workouts and utilise Lean Six Sigma tools to improve processes and productivityResponsible for monitoring production targets including TAT, productivity and labour hours and developing metrics to align with eachIn conjunction with the Business Leader select, hire, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction to assigned personnel (Cell Leaders and hourly employees) and drive employee engagement Leadership and support of Quality approval cycle in line with area of responsibility. Promote labour flexibility throughout the areaMaintain a culture of compliance and integrity and promote the GE Beliefs within the teamsInterface with other organisations and key stakeholders to ensure production requirements are metEnsure communication of key business / customer issues to employees and promote two way communicationSupport Business Leader in the strategic development and planning of manpower, equipment and other resources to meet business demandsDeputise for Business Leader and cover for Cell Leader role as requiredQualifications/Responsibilities Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent knowledge and experience in manufacturing operationsAt least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role including process improvement tools/productivity tools and Lean problem solving toolsTrack record of managing and coaching high performing teams, driving team engagement and individual developmentStrong interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills Ability to cope with pressure
