Our client is a world-leading Portsmouth / Hampshire based manufacturing company, specialising in high quality electrical and electronic components for aerospace, military, medical, automotive, and telecommunications sectors. With a portfolio of over 20,000 products distributed to more than 100,000 active customers worldwide, they are a British Engineering / Manufacturing success story.
With plans for significant expansion of their UK headquarters and manufacturing facility, an operationally focused leader is crucial to continue their growth trajectory.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will require proven leadership skills and a data-driven strategic approach. They will be responsible for developing and executing the operational strategic plan for the next 5 years, aligning with overall business objectives. Key responsibilities include:
Developing and leveraging key stakeholder relationships
Introducing new technology and ideas for manufacturing methods and equipment
Collaborating with the leadership team for engineering and manufacturing divisions
Skills & Attributes:
Strong engineering knowledge, preferably MEng / BEng, with expertise in engineering principles and manufacturing operations. Key skills and qualifications include:
Proven track record in international supply chain management & negotiations, particularly in Asia
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Commercial and financial acumen
Proficiency in problem solving, team building, planning, and decision making
Experience in technically complex decision making
Knowledge of robotic production, vision systems, high speed stamping, and more
Passion for sustainability is preferred
