About Our Client Operational Risk VP required for Capital Markets Banking client based in London.
Job Description The Operational Risk VP will ensure areas of coverage have sufficient guidance and support for the embedding and effective operation of the OR framework within their area of responsibility, so that across the firm there is a consistent approach to risk management practice.Exert influence to ensure that the Operational Risk lifecycle activities are properly adhered to: from risk (RCSA), risk assessment, risk reporting and monitoring (KRIs; Risk Acceptance; Events; Breaches etc).Work with and collaborate directly with the stakeholders across the firm to provide support and constructive challenge across operational risk & control framework and activities Organise and manage the delivery of RCSA with timely output and recording of control weaknesses, addressing actions and related attestations.Regularly carry out threat / regulatory / horizon scanning and share industry knowledge with respective businesses.Oversee the key control activities and processes and adherence to firm-wide policies (i.e. completion of mandatory training, compulsory leave periods).Support the maintenance of firm-wide policy, standards and procedures sharing knowledge and insight from the professional body and industry. Review and analysis of operational risk issue and loss event data to provide an opinion on lessons learnt and the control environment for the ORC and management.Liaison, as necessary, with 1LoD and 3LoD functions, regarding the escalation of material errors and breaches and challenge, tracking and monitoring of open item action plans.
The Successful Applicant The Operational Risk VP will need sound understanding of the Operational Risk management Framework.Experienced in key concepts of Operational Risk Management.Knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets.
