Operational Risk Controller

Monitor the effectiveness of operational risk management at business units and support unitsProvide advice, objective review and challenge so that key operational risks are adequately and effectively identified, assessed and managed in the business-as-usual activities and in new initiatives, products and processesProvide advice, guidance and training to business/ support units on operational risk matters including risk management structure and processes, driving operational risk initiatives, tailoring of Group policies, where applicable for local adoption.Ensure compliance with, and stay abreast of changes in, UK Regulatory requirements re. Operational RiskUndertake gap analysis on new and / or revised regulations from the regulators impacting on operational framework of the branch.Promote risk and control awareness in business and support units through training programme and communication, sharing of best practices and lessons learnt.Develop and maintain local operational risk policies and mitigation programmes, ensuring alignment with Group policies and practices.Conduct independent assessment and monitoring of operational risk by reviewing operational risk metrics (risk events, risk & control self-assessment results, key risk indicators, etc), and assessing if there are systemic/thematic risk concerns that warrant deeper analysis and escalation to senior management.Review business/support unit proposed responses and action plans to address risk issues, assess root cause and the effectiveness of proposed action plans.Participate in major change initiatives of the business/support units (including new product/service and outsourcing), providing inputs to mitigate operational risks.Any other assignment or tasks given by UK Senior Risk
