Front End Planning(FEP): Project team member responsible for coordinating, facilitatingand driving theFront End Planning processes. Initiate andfacilitate Risk Profiling, Project Breakdown Structure development.Review and provide input into project scoping and Basis ofEstimates. Initiate and co-ordinate scoping, and riskworkshops. Obtain labour estimates from resource providers. Withsupport of project team members developintegrated, logicallytied, resource loaded project schedules (Primavera P6) whichincorporate identified scope, risks,estimates/budgets andconstraints to the individual task level for field execution. Withsupport of project teammembers, establish project plans,schedules and milestones. Preparation of Project Execution Plan Obtainconcurrence on project plan from applicable stakeholders (eg.Engineering, Design, CMO etc). Support and authorBusinessCase Summary development. Ensure detail, accuracy and quality isadequate to allow monitoring andcontrol of project to ensuresuccessful completion of cost, schedule and scope commitments.2. Project Monitoring & Control: Develop and maintain updated andaccurate conceptual phase schedule.Load approved projectplan/schedule into applicable project control systems (eg AS7, P6,etc). Maintain alignmentbetween source systems and projectcontrol systems throughout project life cycle. Perform weekly scheduleupdates.Perform weekly schedule analysis. Update scheduleforecasts accordingly. Facilitate project metrics reporting andvariance analysis. Identify actual and potential deviations fromthe approved annual, release or life cycle schedulesto theProject Manager. Recommend corrective actions. With support of projectteam members, monitor projectrisks against Risk ManagementPlan and update as required. Recommend corrective actions. ProvideProject teamwith specific project information as required.3. Change Management: Ensure approved change controlprocesses are followed. Prepare and obtain approvalofapplicable change control documentation. Timely update of projectschedule once change approval or directionhas been approved.Perform “What if” analysis for project team. Maintain project baselineintegrity.Ensure all baseline changes are documented,appropriately approved and auditable. Maintain accurate historicalprojectperformance throughout change control process.4. Cost & Schedule Quality: Maintain the project schedule suchthat it accurately reflects the current projectplan,including field execution. Remediate any discrepancies and maintainalignment. Ensure accurate scheduleupdating/statusing.Maintain project schedule quality and accuracy. Critical path, float,predecessor and successortasks identified, activitieslogically tied, minimal restraints etc. Monitor/verify standardproject reports for accuracy.5. Interface with CrossFunctional Groups: Interface with all stakeholders to ensure projectplans are accuratelyupdated and maintained. Interface withstation work control for execution of field work. Obtaining cost andschedule commitments from applicable resource providers (eg.CMO, Design , FE). Obtaining cost and schedulestatus andforecasts from resource providers.6. Purchase Order Analysis& Reporting: Ensure applicable source systems are set up correctly tomaintainalignment between forecasts and budgeted labour.Populate project control systems to accurately capture and allowmonitoring of schedules and project deliverables. Monitorcontractor schedule performance against project plan andidentify actual or potential discrepancies to Project Manager.Recommend corrective actions. Monitor project PO’s(actuals,forecasts, payment status) and identify actual or potential issues toProject Manager. Recommend correctiveactions. Liaise withContractors’ project controls function to obtain project controlinformation.7. Closeout Phase: Facilitate and supportproject financial close out process. Final reconciliation andfinalize/close out project controls and source systems (AS7, P6, SAP,etc).8. Miscellaneous: Assist with continuous improvement ofPMO processes and procedures. Assist in thedevelopment andcontinuous improvement of the project controls information system.Maintain document projectfile which provides an auditabletrail throughout the project lifecycle including project approvals (ieBCS &PEP),change control (ie PCRAF, SSBCS, Baseline Changeforms) and close out.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequires knowledge of engineering/scienceencompassing subject area relevant to the project planning,scheduling,risk management, and control service needs of thedivision. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills,including relevant business and computer applications knowledge,to develop and maintain computerized projectinformation,costs and forecasts. This knowledge is considered to be normallyacquired through the successfulcompletion of a four-yearuniversity education in an appropriate field such as Business, Financeor Engineering, or byhaving the equivalent level ofeducation.EXPERIENCERequires experience to becomefamiliar with project controls principles, theories, and concepts suchas projectscoping, risk management, estimating, budgetingand scheduling. Requires experience of project management withina Nuclear, Hydroelectric or Thermal generating facility within aproject management support capacity. Requiresexperience tobecome familiar with engineering and construction management concepts,methods and techniques.Requires experience to becomefamiliar with the development and operation of various computerizedsystems anddatabases, including business unit financial andwork management systems, including scheduling systems such asPrimavera P6. Requires experience to become familiar with corporatefinancial processes. Requires experience tobecome familiarwith departmental and divisional interfaces with other areas of theCorporation. A period of over 6years is considered necessaryto gain this experience.
