Claxton are looking to hire an Offshore Service Technician on a full time, permanent basis. To provide both on and offshore services globally in the Cutting and Decommissioning segment. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining, preparing, servicing and operating Claxton rental and third-party equipment, both onshore and offshore to meet project objectives. As a Supervising Technician, you will engage with the client and managing theirs and crew expectations are key requirements for the role on top of the supervising/mentoring and coaching of lower-level technicians.


Duties

  • Provision of technical and practical services at offshore/onshore locations inclusive of appropriate project and client support; working alone or as a crew member, or in a supervisory role.
  • Implementing programmes of work and operations procedures whilst adhering to safe systems of work, to include but not limited to, preparing, surveying, deploying, operating, installing, maintaining, rigging up/down, decommissioning and backloading equipment in accordance with project requirements.
  • To identify and communicate scope changes, enabling the implementation of a management of change (MoC) and ensuring associated risks are brought to ALARP.
  • Check programmes, procedures, drawings, and manuals prior to the operational start-up/job to ensure a full understanding of the project assignment.
  • Provide technician support in the workshop, warehouse, or projects' office to service and prepare equipment as reasonably requested in line with Company standards and procedures/manuals.
  • Ensure the correct tool allocation and an inventory of spares & consumables is in place to assist project loadouts.
  • Prepare offshore paperwork/documentation as per worksite or project specific requirements and company procedures.
  • Attend and constructively input into pre and post job meetings as requested.
  • Provide onsite supervision where appropriate and called upon.
  • To maximise non-operational time in the field to maintain equipment, check inventories, review project documentation for effectiveness and plan the upcoming work.
  • Complete daily field reporting and submit to PE and Ops teams.
  • On the job coaching and nurturing of colleagues.
  • Provide flexibility to mobilise at short notice when required.


Required

  • Minimum of GCSE Level standard of education
  • Hold existing offshore survival, MIST and medical certification or be prepared to do the training.
  • Experience with Upstream oil & gas operations, surface, subsea operations, and wells' construction.
  • LOLER, PUWER and IOSH Managing Safely
  • Good level of hydraulics & pneumatics experience
  • Understandings of quality assurance procedures and factory acceptance testing.
  • Knowledge of working with similar products/equipment
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, health and safety, safe systems of work and legal requirements.
  • Be able to follow operational procedures and troubleshooting/managing change where necessary.
  • Minimum four years' experience working offshore within an engineering discipline.
  • Working to operational manual standards and in-house company procedures.
  • Supervisory experience in offshore teams
  • Takes responsibility for work allocated and driven to deliver excellent service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
