About Us We are a well-established micro business, operating from modern premises on the outskirts of Kingskerswell*. We have been supplying electricity meters into the sub-metering market since 1961, and have developed a wealth of experience in the metering industry. We deal with wholesale and trade customers.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person, with a friendly and can-do attitude to join us and provide first class office support.
(* Please note we are in a new unit on a recent development and our new postcode TQ12 5GJ isn't recognised on some systems yet. The postcode used gives our location as Decoy, however, we are actually located on the outskirts of Kingskerswell.)
About you The candidate w ill possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. With strong prioritisation and organisation skills, you will be expected to work unsupervised and use initiative to complete tasks. This unique role in a micro company will give you the opportunity to put your own stamp on the running and organisation of the office.
The Benefits
Starting rate £12.31 per hour
This is a part-time role 25 hours a week 10:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch (unpaid)
Initially a 4-month fixed-term contract with a view to it becoming permanent
20 days per year pro rata (3 of these days are allocated to the Christmas break), plus all statutory holidays
About the Role As our Office Administrator you will play a vital role supporting the business by managing and maintaining an efficient and effective office. The primary responsibilities of this role are:
Dealing with customer enquiries, providing quotes and processing orders
Providing sales and technical information as appropriate verbally, via email and in person
Manage and maintain the financial records of the Sales Ledger on QuickBooks accounting software, including production of invoices, statements and credit notes. Produce financial reports as necessary and ensure accounts are paid on time
Process customers receipts
Provide administration support for the Carrier system
Manage and maintain a customer database
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Minimum English and Maths GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent)
Good working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Outlook, Word and Excel
Must have previous admin experience or similar in an office environment
Customer service and bookkeeping experience would be an advantage
