A Health & Social Care Assessor is responsible for assessing the competency of individuals working towards vocational qualifications in health and social care settings. These assessments typically involve observing the individual in their workplace, reviewing their work and assessing their knowledge and understanding of the relevant standards and criteria. Assessors also provide support and guidance to learners to help them progress in their studies and achieve their qualifications.

  • Salary: £16.00 Per Hour
  • Hours: 08:00 - 16:00
  • Contract: On going
  • Shifts: Hybrid working, three days a week
  • Location: South East Wales

As a Health and Social Care Assessor, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducting assessments of individuals working towards health and social care qualifications
  • Providing knowledge sessions to enable theory element to be successfully completed
  • Providing feedback and guidance to learners on their progress and performance
  • Supporting learners in developing their knowledge and skills
  • Ensuring assessments are carried out in accordance with the relevant standards and criteria
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date assessment records
  • Liaising with employers and training providers to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in the health and social care sector and relevant qualifications
  • Working with a range of learners, including those with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Complying with relevant policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in health and social care, along with a recognised assessing qualification (such as TAQA or equivalent)
  • Experience working in Health and Social Care settings
  • Experience in assessing and supporting learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to report to key stakeholders and employers
