As a team we strive to provide the children we support with high standards of care. We work in collaboration with the families to support the children and enhance their quality of life.Main duties of the jobAs the Nurse Associate for the team you will have a breadth of knowledge of child development and be able to provide holistic, person and family centred care for our children. You will help bridge the gap between Health Care Assistants and Registered nurses by being able to work independently under the leadership of the registered nurses within the Complex Care Team. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will monitor the health needs of the children within your care on a continual basis in partnership with the multi-professional team.You will assist with teaching and assessing the competencies required for the staff to deliver day to day care for the children with complex health needs, these cares will include tracheostomies, gastrostomies and ventilation support. The post holder will be part of a wider team of staff trained to maintain the safety and wellbeing of these children in their own homes.You will play a key role in the supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named supervisor.The post holder will be responsible for helping to manage the care of children who access the long term ventilation team.The post holder will be responsible for liaison with wider MDT to improve outcomes for the children and their families.The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.• If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90.
