Job in Malvern Education & Training Jobs Nursery ManagerLocation: MalvernContract Type: PermanentHours: 40 hours per weekSalary: CompetitiveThe Downs Malvern has become part of the Malvern College Charity, it is a busy, vibrant and successful co-educational preparatory school for boarding and day children aged between 3 and 13 years. We have a welcoming staff community and excellent facilities on our 55 acre site. We have our own salary scale and are situated near to Great Malvern on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills.We have an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Manager to join us as we prepare to open our Nursery from September 2024 for children aged 6 months to 4 years.The Nursery Manager will be responsible for delivering and ensuring a high standard of learning, development, and care for the children as well as act as role model for staff and showcase high quality practice with children and work and build effective relationships with staff and parents.This role is on a full time basis, 40 hours per week and is for 52 weeks but would have a 2 week shut down period.You will have a sound knowledge of all school policies and procedures, as well as statutory welfare requirements and Ofsted/ISI expectations, ensuring that these are adhered to at all times.To be successful you will have experience of working in a Preschool or nursery setting and hold at least a level 3 childcare qualification. You will also have a commitment to ensuring safeguarding children is prioritised above all else.APPLICATIONS:Applications should be submitted no later than 15 April 2024. The post holder will be considered to be in regulated activity.This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children. The Downs Malvern exists to provide a quality all round education for pupils aged 13 - 18 and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Candidates must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and an Enhanced DBS check. You will be required to provide proof of your identity, right to work in the UK and qualifications during the selection process. We will seek references on short-listed candidates that will include questions about past disciplinary actions or allegations in relation to behaviour with children and may approach previous employers for information to verify particular experience or qualifications before interview.
