Nursery Deputy Manager

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of a fantastic NEW Montessori nursery who are looking to recruit a Nursery Deputy Manager for their excellent, setting based near Grays. The passion for child development at this setting stems from understanding each individual child’s experience and development. The Nursery caters for 2 to five-year olds and follows a holistic curriculum. 

Main duties and responsibilities

·        Maintain appropriate staffing levels and ratios at all times, ensuring that compliance with regulations relating to minimum staffing levels in adhered to. Responsibility for staff rotas.

·        Identify staff training and developmental needs, planning with the managing team to ensure these needs are met.

·        In relation to sickness and absences ensure you have adequate cover that everyone is informed and bank staff arranged.

·        Ensure that supervisions are carried out on a regular basis to assist the staff with their development.

·        Carry out on the job training and coaching for staff in need of support.

·        To have an overview of those who we work in partnership with such as other professionals and outside agencies.

·        Manage and organise Room Leader meetings, to be held on a regular basis throughout the year.

·        Manage and organise staff meetings, normally outside hours to be held on a regular basis throughout the year normally monthly.

·        In conjunction with the management team be responsible for all health and safety matters within the nursery and that the nursery complies with its own health and safety policy and procedures.

·        Ensure the staff adhere to the nursery policies regarding personal health, hygiene, punctuality, sickness and absence, tattoos, piercings and general grooming

You must have:

-Level 3 childcare qualification plus management OR childcare qualification of level 6 or above

-A good understanding of EYFS.

-A knowledge and understanding of child development.

-A good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

-Awareness and understanding of equal opportunities.

-An understanding of the needs and expectation of working parents
