Nursery Chef

We are looking for a friendly energetic and experienced cook with a passion for preparing fresh meals using fresh ingredients and the ability to cook healthy food from scratch following our established menu.

The cook must be up to date with environmental health guidelines and have awareness of allergies and allergens. You will be willing to complete training and refresh knowledge and will hold a level 3 Food Safety qualification. An enhanced DBS is required.

*Main Duties:*

1. To be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen.

2. Stock control.

3. To prepare and present a freshly cooked lunchtime meal including a dessert for the nursery staff to serve to children in our care. The chef must also provide suitable alternatives to accommodate for children with allergies, particular dietary requests and those who observe religious beliefs.

4. To adhere to the ‘Safer food better business’ standards and record keeping.

5. To prepare and store a light tea for the nursery staff to serve in the afternoon to the children.

6. To work with the Nursery Manager to plan a well balanced, healthy and fresh menu.

7. To complete food orders within the allocated budget and the appropriate timescales for deliveries.

8. Manage and complete rota housekeeping duties, including but not limited to; nursery washing and kitchen facilities, equipment and appliance cleaning.

9. Reporting equipment, maintenance problems to the Nursery Manager.

10. To adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.

11. To adhere strictly to the following safety rules;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
